How to make the most of your golf rounds during the warmer months in Mallorca’s stunning Pollensa. What Summer Means for Golf in MallorcaMallorca is a dream destination for golfers from all over Europe. With its Mediterranean charm, breathtaking landscapes, and ideal weather, it's no surprise that many choose to play golf here all year round. However, summer brings unique challenges: high temperatures, increased UV exposure, and larger crowds.Playing golf in summer is a different kind of experience. The sun shines brighter, the days are longer, and the body feels the heat more intensely. At courses like Pollensa Golf, where the views of the Tramuntana mountains meet the deep blue sea, the scenery is incredible — but being prepared is key to enjoying it fully. In this guide, we’ll share 8 essential tips to help you play smarter, feel better, and get the most out of your summer rounds.8 Keys to Enjoy Golf in Summer1. Choose the right time to playAvoid teeing off during the hottest hours, typically between 12:00 and 16:00. Early mornings and late afternoons are cooler, less crowded, and often more peaceful — plus, the light is amazing for those stunning golf course views.2. Stay hydrated throughout the roundHydration is crucial. Don’t wait until you're thirsty — drink small sips regularly. Consider bringing isotonic drinks to replenish electrolytes. Use a refillable water bottle and take advantage of water stations on the course.3. Wear technical clothing and use sun protectionLightweight, breathable clothing is a must. Don’t forget a hat or visor, UV-blocking sunglasses, and water-resistant sunscreen. Reapply sunscreen every two hours, especially on exposed areas like your face, neck, and arms.4. Adjust your game strategyThe heat can alter how the ball reacts on the course. Dry fairways lead to faster rolls, and warm air allows the ball to fly farther. Adjust your shots accordingly, and pay attention to wind and terrain.5. Fuel your body properlyEat a light, energy-rich meal before your round — fruits and complex carbs are ideal. Bring healthy snacks like dried fruit, energy bars, or nuts to maintain energy. Avoid heavy meals or too much caffeine and alcohol.6. Pace yourself and listen to your bodySummer golf can be physically demanding. Take breaks in the shade when needed and slow your pace. If you feel dizzy, overheated, or fatigued, stop playing and find a cool place to recover.7. Take advantage of on-site facilitiesCourses like Pollensa Golf offer shaded areas, rest stations, and drink carts. Make use of them to stay cool and comfortable during your game.8.
